More songs
22/02/2011 01:21Day 2 - A song that reminds you of your most recent ex-boyfriend/girlfriend - yeah, get back to me when I've dealt with my commitment issues. Cough.
Day 3 - A song that reminds you of one/both of your parents - Anything by Elvis. And Jethro Tull TBH. Yeah, if the "cool" factor was mentioned earlier, the first gig I ever went to was Jethro Tull... with my dad. But I can't complain. Thanks to their tape (and later CD) collection I got to a) develop a good musical taste and b) not get broke in the process!
( more to come )
On a different note, after being exposed to the (OMG SO HORRIBLE!!!) news that there's a 21 Jump Street movie in the works (WHY OH GAWD WHY), I got nostalgic and downloaded the first season.
Results:
1) One day I'll understand how American shows get green-lit after pilots. This one goes together with The Gathering into the "worst pilot ever made" category.
2) Okay, so they're busy being so educational and nice and "look we're a show for teenagers" and they well deserve mocking for that... but the fact that a lot of their plots are "kids screw up" actually allows them to not be TOO simplistic.
3) okay, so their plots were...well... it's a teenagers' show about cops in school for crying out loud! But wow, do these people know how to build characters properly. They get it. Banter is important. Humour is important. It makes your characters human! That's important. I love the way the characters interact, and that one holds up 24 years later(!!).
FBI guy: "blah blah blah need to know basis."
Fuller: "Get Ioki and Hanson in here, we need to fill them in."
Penhall: "Can we tell them everything or are they on a need to know basis?"
Fuller: "I can't tell you that."
:D
They actually ARE intentional action comedy!
